Have you ever thought.......
"Next year is going to be different"
" Next year is the year I'm going to lose weight,
; Or quit smoking
; Or finally write my book
; or next year I'm going achieve my goals?
We all have new years resolutions. But at the same time we are not just making challenges, we are having expectations of ourselves. There's nothing wrong with making goals, infact it's wonderful! But not all of us can achieve them.
I myself was so looking forward to this year. I like even years. And this year being an 8th year if you add all the numbers up, 8 is the number of opportunities!
So me putting out an expectation already, failed the first day. New Year's day for me was a disaster. Hear I was releasing the old out of my life to make way for the new and then it's like the tower card came in and all hell broke loose! A complete break down. But it was meant to happen. And I was so disappointed because I felt so let myself down. How can we stop this!!
Number 1. Stop putting too much pressure on ourselves!!!!
Number 2. Just allow every moment to be and enjoy each day for it's self. Live in every moment! Do the best you can each day.
For those who can make goals and time frames and achieve them then that's awesome! But we aren't all the same. We all have trauma we are still trying to get through which comes crawling back at times. Just do baby steps, day by day or even hour by hour. You will achieve your goals in your own time. Big or small!!!
Be proud of yourself. Yes time will keep going regardless of how long we take but we need to stop putting pressure on ourselves. We need to stop competing with others feeling like we aren't good enough.
Make the most of everyday, rest when we need to. Be kind and loving to ourselves as if you would to a friend. Love yourself.
Rome wasn't built in a day 🙂💜🙏
